We often look at our finances and try to figure out how we can save money. When we over-soap our laundry, we throw our money down the laundry drain. Most of us want our clothes to be super clean. Super clean must mean using more laundry soap, even more soap than the manufacturer recommends right? Not quite. When it comes to laundry soap is less more? Many of us use way more laundry soap in our machines than is actually needed.
More detergent means more suds but doesn’t mean cleaner. In fact, excess suds can hold dirt pulled from clothes and get caught in areas that won’t always rinse clean leading to bacteria buildup. Look at the manufacturer recommendations on the packaging and then use less. A lot less. Then gradually increase that amount if your clothes are not coming out as clean as you would like. Your clothes will be just as clean and you will have more money saved in your piggy bank. Your washer will also thank you too.
